GRADUATE STUDENT INSTRUCTION

IF YOU LOVE TO TEACH, you will be happy to know our MFA Program offers unique opportunities to do so. We believe pedagogy to be an important element in developing a well-rounded art practice. In their second year, MFA students are invited to teach their own section of our undergraduate foundation course, Art 8: "Introduction to Visual Thinking." Opportunities exist to teach this course again, and/or other courses during summer sessions or regular semester as well. Students are strongly encouraged to do some teaching during their time in the program, although it is not mandatory. We recognize how invaluable college-level teaching experience can be in building a career in the arts, so we pride ourselves in providing as many opportunities for our students to teach as possible.
